Midcon MD100 Torque Control

Midcon MD100 Torque Control

The MIDCON MD100 inverter provides a Torque Control feature that allows the device to operate based on torque settings rather than only frequency or speed. This function is particularly useful in applications where maintaining a specific torque level is important for stable and efficient operation.

The torque control mode in the MIDCON MD100 can be configured to operate in either Manual Torque Control or Automatic Torque Control, depending on the application requirements. The selection between these two modes is done through parameter 00.02.

Selecting Torque Control Mode

The operating mode of torque control is determined by the following setting:
• 00.02 Parameter

This parameter allows the user to choose between manual torque adjustment or automatic torque control.

Manual Torque Control

To operate the inverter in Manual Torque Control mode, the following setting must be applied:
• 00.02 = 0

In this mode, the torque value is manually adjusted by the user according to the needs of the application.

The torque value is set using the following parameter:
• 05.01 Parameter

This parameter allows the user to define the required torque value manually. The adjustable range is:
• 0.1% to 30.0%

The selected value should be chosen according to the torque requirements of the system or machine being operated.

Manual torque control is commonly used in applications where the operator needs precise control over the torque output based on specific operating conditions.

Automatic Torque Control

The MIDCON MD100 also supports Automatic Torque Control, which allows the inverter to manage the torque automatically based on system conditions.

To enable this mode, the following setting must be applied:
• 00.02 = 1

When automatic torque control is selected, the 05.01 parameter must be set to:
• 05.01 = 0.0

In this case, the inverter automatically adjusts the torque level during operation, eliminating the need for manual torque adjustments.

Benefits of Torque Control in MIDCON MD100

Using the torque control function provides several operational advantages, including:
• Better control of motor load conditions.
• Improved system stability during operation.
• Protection of mechanical components from excessive torque.
• Enhanced efficiency in industrial applications.

The Torque Control feature in MIDCON MD100 makes it a reliable solution for applications where torque management is essential for optimal system performance.
