Midcon MD100 Run Command Source

Midcon MD100 Run Command Source

The MIDCON MD100 inverter provides flexible control options for starting and stopping the device. Users can select the Run Command Source, which determines how the inverter receives the start and stop commands.

This setting is configured using parameter 00.03, allowing the user to choose the most suitable control method depending on the application and control system.

Run Command Source Setting

The 00.03 parameter defines the source of the run command. The available options are as follows:

1. Keypad Control
• 00.03 = 0

In this mode, the inverter is controlled directly from the device keypad.
The operator can start and stop the inverter using the keypad buttons:
• The green RUN button is used to start the device.
• The red STOP button is used to stop the device.

This mode is commonly used during testing, setup, or maintenance, where the operator needs direct control of the inverter from the front panel.

2. Terminal Control
• 00.03 = 1

In this mode, the inverter receives start and stop commands through the control terminals. External control signals are connected to the inverter terminals to operate the device.

This method is widely used in industrial automation systems, where external switches, relays, or control signals are used to start and stop the inverter.

3. Communication Control (PLC)
• 00.03 = 2

In this mode, the inverter is controlled through communication with a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) or another automation system.

The run and stop commands are sent through the communication network, allowing the inverter to be fully integrated into automated control systems. This method is commonly used in advanced industrial applications where centralized control and monitoring are required.

Advantages of Multiple Run Command Sources

The MIDCON MD100 inverter supports multiple control methods, providing flexibility for different types of installations. By selecting the appropriate Run Command Source, users can easily integrate the inverter into manual, semi-automatic, or fully automated systems.

This feature makes the MIDCON MD100 suitable for a wide range of industrial applications such as pumps, fans, conveyors, and other motor-driven systems
